Integer, whole-valued positive or negative number or 0. The integers are generated from the set of counting numbers 1, 2, 3,… and the operation of subtraction. When a counting number is subtracted from itself, the result is zero.
The collection of numbers ...., -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, … is called integers.
-1, -2, -3, – 4, … called negative numbers are negative integers.
1, 2, 3, 4, … called positive numbers are positive integers.
0 is simply an integer, neither positive nor negative.
Addition of Integers
To add two positive integers, add them and put the positive sign.
To add two negative integers, add them and put the negative sign.
To add two integers, one positive and the other negative, subtract them and put the sign of the bigger integer.
